Rules of Golf and Certification
Are you interested in learning about the Rules of Golf?
The Level I program is an introduction to the Rules of Golf and course etiquette. It is intended for anyone interested in the game of golf, from beginners to experts. Whether you just want to learn more about the Rules of Golf, or you aspire to become a certified Rules Official, this program will get you started. Level II is a more in-depth look at the Rules of Golf and the Decisions. Currently Level I is available on CD and should be available on-line in the fall. If your club does not have a copy, you may order one by contacting Golf House. The RCGA has launched the Level II program on-line at www.rcga.org.
Alberta Golf will coordinate level III seminars in the spring (April). These seminars are open to all golfers including Alberta Golf members and the general public who have successfully completed the Level II on line seminar. There are two components to the seminars, the first a theoretical classroom component and the second will be on-course demonstrations. There will be an exam at the end of the course and participants who successfully pass the exam will receive Provincial Certification.
Dates and locations for the Level III seminars are now available. Click here for details. Space for these clinics is limited so please register early. The updated Rules of Golf (2008) and the Decisions on the Rules of Golf books are also available through Golf House. Alberta Golf conducts these clinics as a part of our ongoing objective to promote the game of golf in Alberta through educating our members, directors, volunteers, and public players.
