Team Alberta heads to Sherbrooke Quebec with their eyes set on the podium at the 2013 Canada Summer Games
August 12, 2013
The Milby Golf Club is set to host the top players in the country this week, and Alberta looks to follow up on some strong play at the National Championships earlier this month.
The team is comprised of Sabrine Garrison (2013 Western Future Links Champion), Jaclyn Lee (2013 Alberta Junior Champion), Devon Spriddle (2013 MJT Paradise Canyon Champion), Nick Scrymgeour (2013 Frank Lindsay Alberta Junior Champion), Matt Williams (2013 National Development Team Member), Evan Holmes (2013 Sun Life Financial Alberta Men’s Amateur Runner Up), Dean Spriddle (Provincial Coach) and Danielle Ordyniec (Team Manager).
The training program leading up to the games has had some great support from the ASRPWF. It enabled us to conduct off season training, interact with top sport science consultants, and in May the team was fortunate to travel to Sherbrooke to spend time getting to know the area, and the Milby Golf Club.
Our Provincial Coaches Randy Robb and Dean Spriddle have put in a great amount of time over the past few years with the top golfers in this province. With their dedication to this group, and a great deal of hard work from the athletes, there have been some exceptional results on the provincial and national stage.
During the week, our golfers will also get out and support other Alberta teams in their quest for gold. This is a great week to get behind sport in the province.
The competition starts this Wednesday.
